Oh, I do like to be beside the seaside...

Hello
So thought I'd put up some pictures from when we went to the cost last week, during Easter. It was a-ma-zing. I'd been revising Chemistry all week (still destined for a D) and I just needed a break and a day to chill and read  a bit. We went down to Bempton Rocks to see the birdies which was strangely relaxing but beautiful. We went to Flamborough after that, met a crab, and then went to Brid for the rest of the day before getting fish and chips on the way home.

This pub is 'The White Horse' in Bempton. My mum wanted to drive past and see it, as she used to go there as a kid and she's been describing this blue tiled roof to me for years. We also drove past the caravan site at Brid where my great-nana used to have a caravan. She was a Romany traveller (always think that sounds like such a romantic life?). When she married, she had to go from living in a tiny caravan with her parents and 10 siblings to a big house with just two people, and she never quite got used to it. A caravan must have seemed like the safest place to her, as you always know who's with you. As she got older, she was robbed a lot and because of her age, there was nothing she could do about it. I found it quite nostalgic visiting all these places and hearing my mum tell these stories about people I never knew.

I re-read 'Every Vow you Break' that day, and loved it just as much as the first time if not more. Incredible book. If you're reading this now, stop reading, go and order it, and read that instead. It gets a bit odd at parts but the characterisation is insane and I think the fact that the storyline is a bit wacky makes it all the more enjoyable. I've just started 'The Other Boleyn Girl' for the millionth time and its awesome. Again. Read that too.

This bastard of a seagull actually took my only doughnut right out of my hand as I was about to eat it, bit my finger, and then followed me around for the rest of the day. No chance was he getting any more so I took a quick pic of him and ran.

It was so great to get away from it all for just one day and actually visit somewhere new. I get so sick of my daily routine and never meeting new people/seeing new places/discovering different parts of the world. It's just same old, same old every day. I felt so much better after it.
My exams are so ridiculously soon but finished in less than two months. I can't explain how excited I am for this summer. It's meant to be one of the best of your life so far, so fingers crossed it lives up to expectations!
Claire x
